CLEANPRINT™ TECHNOLOGY

Asahi’s patented CleanPrint™ technology reduces the ink filling-in in the mid-tone area over the printing run leading to fewer cleaning intervals and press stop downtimes for the printer. The CleanPrint™ plate material was developed for high quality film printing applications using solvent based inks with the objective of transferring printing jobs from other printing technologies to flexography.

Asahi’s CleanPrint™ plates are a product solution, which can easily be fitted into an existing customer’s environment without the need of additional machine investment. This flexibility enables the customer to react to changing market needs while keeping their business environment sustainable.

CleanPrint™ digital flexo plates can be produced in all Asahi AFP processing systems or corresponding processing equipment. The plate is exposed on the back to produce the desired relief depth and achieve maximum sensitivity to UV light. The plates feature excellent compatibility with commonly used solvent – and water-based ink systems on smooth film and coated paper substrates.

Asahi Photoproducts recognized two converging trends in flexographic printing.

FIRST, brand owners are seeking faster ti me to market with higher quality packaging that stands out on the shelf. They want to achieve this at an ever-lower price point. And increasingly, they are looking for suppliers that can produce packaging with a reduced environmental footprint.

SECONDLY, packaging printers/converters are looking for ways to significantly improve efficiency in order to meet these demands while increasing quality to address the growing use of photographic images on packaging. They want to meet the sustainability demands of brand owners, but also understand there are benefits for their businesses as well, with less waste and a cleaner work environment.
